Fighting styles are the melee backbone of any build. Unlike swords or guns, they don't need a weapon slot — your fists are always ready. The trick is picking the right one for your playstyle and fruit combo.
Electric is the first fighting style you'll unlock. It's fast, cheap, and gets the job done early. The downside? Its damage falls off hard by the Second Sea. Use it to level through the First Sea, then start saving for something better. It's not a PvP pick at all.
Water Kung Fu gives you decent range on your basic attacks and a knockback move that creates space. It's a solid mid-game option for hybrid builds — players mixing fruit damage with melee follow-ups. The moves flow well and the wind-up is short. Not the highest damage, but the utility makes it worth having in your pocket.
Dragon Talon is the endgame fighting style for a reason. It hits hard, its combo strings are devastating, and the AoE on Dragon's Breath clears groups fast. It's slow on startup — every move has a wind-up you need to account for — but landing a full combo deletes HP bars. Pair it with any fruit that has a stun or grab setup and you'll dominate in PvP.
Death Step trades some of Dragon Talon's raw damage for speed. It's the style you want if you like dancing around your opponent. The combo potential is huge because the moves chain into each other smoothly. Downsides: it takes practice to master the timing, and the damage per hit is lower than Dragon Talon's. Great for players who prioritize mobility over brute force.
Sharkman Karate sits in a nice middle ground. It's got good damage, solid range from the water projectiles, and the moves are straightforward to land. It's not as flashy as Death Step or as hard-hitting as Dragon Talon, but it works with almost any build. The swimming speed bonus is a nice bonus for sea travel too.
